Frunshana Whitaker | Board Member
Frunshana Whitaker serves as the Marketing and Communications Chair at Delivering Unto You. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.A. in Public Relations. Frunshana has years of experience working as both a Social Media and Marketing Manager. She's had an interest in birth work since her childhood but it wasn't until a few years ago that she decided she wanted to actually be a part of the birth workers community. This revelation came after she learned of the discrimination and racism black women face within the medical system. She knew then, she had to somehow do her part in educating, supporting, protecting, and empowering expecting moms. So, when the opportunity to be a part of Delivering Unto You presented itself, she was all in. Once her daughter is older she plans to become a postpartum doula and childbirth educator.
Eric Whitaker | Dads Group Facilitator
Eric Whitaker, originally from Clarksville, TN is a husband and father of four. Like most men of color, he didn’t have the relationship with his father that every child deserves. He promised himself that when he had children, he would be the best father he could be. Unfortunately, Eric had to fight for the right to be the dad he promised himself he would be with his oldest three children. After 7 years of fighting a system that is not designed for fathers Eric won full custody of his three oldest children. Eric has learned a lot from being a father and from his fight to just to be a part of his children’s lives. His dedication to his children and unwillingness to back down to a poorly designed system are few things that make him a wonderful guide for other men of color that face the same challenges. His hope is to inspire, encourage, uplift, and help other fathers navigate this never-ending journey of fatherhood.
